The Man Who Fell To Earth Season 1 Episode 2: Recap
In the Man Who Fell To Earth Season 1 Episode 2, Spencer Clay arrives in Alaska and finds a wardrobe that appears to be his home of communication, Gregory Papel. As he looked around, he saw a butterfly sitting on a tree and crouching in a water bottle. He finds the closet until he meets Papel, but their conversation begins on the wrong foot.
Spencer was struck on the forehead with a blunt object, and he woke up to find that he had been strapped to a chair. He sees Papel, who is not really happy to see him, and asks him why he is there. And then, one by one, Papel starts saying things that start to make sense to us, but nothing to Spencer. He is talking about someone who was trying to send a message and how someone ended up responding.
He also talks about the film, “Sweet” Newton (who seems to be our boy, Thomas Newton), and that they turned him into a psychopath. Apparently, Papel was scared to death and finally shot himself in front of the terrified Spencer, who had no idea what was going on or what he was talking about.
As far as we can imagine, Newton was the one who sent this message 45 years ago, and it was finally answered by Faraday. The film probably has some sort of Newton imagery. Speaking of Newton as “fun” makes sense as Faraday is, in a way, like a baby trying to learn new things (on a new planet). However, realizing what Newton wanted, perhaps Papel and his peers decided to use him to further their own interests and interests, thus ‘catching his eye’ again.
But now that Papel knows that Newton’s message has been answered, he realizes that his death is imminent. Probably the cause of the deaths of people related to the event 45 years ago was Newton himself, and Papel was somehow able to get out alive. But now he feels his time has come (as someone like Newton has arrived), and he warns Spencer about it too.
