‘All The Old Knives,’ an exciting movie for modern spies. The storyline is based on Olen Steinhauer’s best-selling novel. It follows CIA agent Henry (Chris Pine), who is investigating mysterious agent Celia (Thandiwe Newton), her past flames, and a double-agent agent.
The film tells the story of Celia and Henry’s love affair in the past, depicting a tragic event that overshadows Henry’s current ambition. ‘All The Old Knives was recorded in the USA and UK, especially in California and in the city of London. The main photography began in December 2020 in London, which will be wrapped up in mid-March 2021. While most scenes are made with lenses in California, London seems to represent the Vienna landscapes in the film.
Charlotte Bruus Christensen (‘Sites,’ ‘Silent Place’) came on board as a filmmaker for the project, while Marcus Rowland of ‘Shaun of the Dead fame is in charge of production.
California
Most of the sequences were taken from various parts of Monterey County in California. A few scenes were recorded in the coastal town of Monterey, while a panoramic shot depicted Big Sur, a rough coastline from Carmel to San Simeon.

The series shows Bixby Creek Bridge, an open-spandrel bridge near Highway 1 on Big Sur. As one of the most photographed bridges in the world, the area also features a wide range of indie and blockbuster productions, including the Channing Tatum-starrer Dog.’

Significant scenes were recorded in and around Carmel-by-the-Sea, a tourist town on the Monterey Peninsula. Its town-like center has a Carmel Mission historic site near modern tourist residences and art galleries. If you are watching birds, you should visit Carmel River State Beach, which often visits birds such as the Great Horned Owl and the Belted Kingfisher.
England
Most of Vienna’s successors were actually recorded in London – the capital of England and one of the world’s most prominent cities. Significant scenes are performed at the British Museum, which is one of the largest museums in the world. Located on the Great Russell Street of London, this iconic building is dedicated to the display of human art, history, and culture, from ancient times to the present.
