‘Molly’s Game’ is a crime film about Molly (Jessica Chastain), an Olympic-based skipper who moves to Los Angeles after a job-creating injury. While working as a waiter, she is hired as Dean’s (Jeremy Strong) office manager, who puts him in his underground poker games.
When Molly starts earning big bucks with tips and having good relationships with a lot of great players, the intimidated Dean kicks her out. Molly starts his own poker games, but things get worse when he fights with a high-profile player.
Molly then moved to New York to start over but ended up facing charges of illegal gambling. To protect himself and his clients from the FBI, Molly employs Charlie Jaffey (Idris Elba) as his lawyer. Based on a history named after Molly Bloom, the 2017 film is a psychological and visual treat with high-quality poker games in luxurious settings that make you realize how rich the players are. Where Was Molly’s Game Movie Filmed?
Despite being set mainly in New York City and Los Angeles, ‘Molly’s Game’ was heavily recorded in the city of Toronto, Ontario.
Several shots were also fired in other parts of the Canadian province and in New York City. The main filming started on November 9, 2016, and ended on February 9, 2017.
Ontario
Most of Molly’s Game’ was recorded in Toronto, the capital of the province of Ontario. A few indoor scenes were shot at sets created at Stages 2, 11, and 12 at Pinewood Toronto Studios, located at 225 Commissioners Street. The production site was used to create court scenes where Molly’s case was conducted. It looks like the center has doubled as part of Charlie’s office in Manhattan.

However, Citigroup Place at 123 Front Street West served as the building where Molly’s attorney Charlie’s office is located in the film. Scenes in the reception area were filmed at the Toronto Dominion Center or TD Center located at 66 Wellington Street West in the city.
The team of producers also visited many luxury restaurants to capture a few sequences of Jessica Chastain. Katana on Bay, formerly known as Blowfish on Bay, served as the basis for Molly’s meeting with a study agent about her book. Located at 333 Bay Street, the restaurant is permanently closed.

A number of scenes have reportedly been shot at meat bars known as Bardi’s Steak House at 56 York Street and Hy’s Steakhouse & Cocktail Bar at 365 Bay Street. These sites appear to serve as a platform for Molly to deal with a few criminals.
Molly’s first place to work in the southern California city of Los Angeles is his first business. In order to record scenes set in and around the area mentioned above in the film, the production team moved to the corner of Bayview Avenue and Belsize Drive in the Leaside area of Toronto. Specifically, the commercial building at 1560 Bayview Avenue has doubled as Molly’s first office.

Outside the city of Toronto, several scenes were recorded in Collingwood town in Simcoe County, Ontario. The qualifying match for the 2002 Winter Olympics in which Molly Bloom participated and later was injured will be held at the Deer Valley Resort in Utah. However, scenes depicting the same were recorded at Beaver Valley Ski Club, 100 Pioneer Drive in Markdale in Grey County, southern Ontario.
New York
Considering that an important part of the film’s story is set in New York City, a few key scenes were shot using the Big Apple as the background. The Wollman Rink between East 62nd and East 63rd Street in Central Park in Manhattan appears in the movie as Molly slides across the ranks while waiting for Charlie. The bench next to the ranks is where Molly reunites with his father, Larry Bloom (Kevin Costner), in the film.
