Actor Ben Affleck is the host of the 2012 elaborate political drama ‘Argo.’ Launched during the US-led genocide disaster in Iran in 1979, the film is in full swing. The CIA agent should launch a deadly operation to rescue six US citizens at the Tehran embassy. Since there is no direct way to rescue unsuspecting residents, the agency is working under the cover of a Hollywood director who surveys sci-fi venture sites.

Where Was Argo Movie Filmed?
‘Argo’ was recorded in and around the US and Turkey, especially in Los Angeles and Istanbul. Production started on July 18, 2011, and ended on April 15, 2012. The main photography took place from September 2, 2011, to November 20 of the same year.
Well-known cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto (‘Brokeback Mountain’ and ‘Babel fame’) took to the stage as director of photography, while Sharon Seymour, the production designer of ‘Oldboy,’ also starred in the Argo film.
California
Although the Argo film was supposed to be shot in Iran, the actors and crew were unable to record it there for security reasons. Most of the recording takes place in Los Angeles and surrounding areas if you can believe it.
Artistic director Peter Brock has carefully hidden these places, including the most famous sites. Much of the studio work was done at Warner Brothers Burbank Studios, the 4000 Warner Boulevard center in Burbank. The 62-acre expansive studio has become home to classic film and TV shows, from ‘Blade Runner’ to ‘The Big Bang Theory.’

Lester Siegel’s home is located in Beverly Hills, an elite extension of Los Angeles in Los Angeles County. Scenes are recorded at 1001 Bel Air Road, private property, and houses in the area.
Veterans Hospital, a health facility located at 1611 Plummer Street in the North Hills area of Los Angeles, stands in front of the U.S. embassy façade. They also headed for Smoke House Restaurant, a steamer located on 4420 West Lakeside Drive in Burbank, 12 miles north of downtown LA.

The sequence was also recorded in Ontario, a California city between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Located in San Bernardino County, east of LA, the city is famous for its parks, lakes, and wine shops.
The film shows us a few glimpses of Tehran Airport, but the crew did not really go there. Scenes were filmed at Ontario International Airport, an airport located at 2900 East Airport Drive in Ontario.
Washington
To create its charming ambiance, actors and staff also visited the Washington capital. The team captured the nation’s capital for its fame, including the State Department Building, officially at the Harry S.

Turkey
A significant number of external sequences were captured in and around Istanbul, the historic capital of Turkey. One scene shows the Yeni Camii Mosque or New Mosque.
The last major mosque built by the Ottoman Empire, the mosque is located on the Rüstem Paşa by Bosphorus, an important waterway in the world. A secret meeting was held in Hagia Sophia, an ancient monument that once housed Byzantine architecture.
