Outlander Season 6 Episode 4 begins with Ian remembering his conversion to Mohawk. After another, he married a Mohawk woman named Wahionhaweh and eventually started to have children of their own. However, their daughter died before they could be born. Wahionhaweh became pregnant again, after which the baby died before birth.
The elders of the community believed that Ian’s children did not have roots in their mother’s womb as her spirit was not the Mohawk. Ian annoyed that he was leaving his family, went to see his wife, but saw her meet his friend Kaheroton.
Ian meets Kaheroton in the Cherokees country as he accompanies his uncle Jamie to deliver the guns sent by Governor Martin. He talks about his past life with Wahionhaweh and Kaheroton to Jamie, who comforts him by saying he did nothing to regret.
Back at Fraser’s Ridge, Claire checks the ether on Lizzie and Josiah with the help of Malva and realizes it produces amazing results. Jamie, saddened by Brianna’s revelation that the Cherokees will be forced to withdraw from their land in 60 years, warns Chief Bird alike.
Drowning in despair, Ian fights Kaheroton by stealing Wahionhaweh from him. Jamie and Scotchee tried their best to keep them separate from the fight, only to end up annoying Kaheroton. Scotchee proposes war when Kaheroton retaliates, the last thing he accepts.
After realizing that Kaheroton did nothing wrong, Ian reconciles with his former friend and hands Jamie a gun to him for the duel. He humiliates Scotchee but can’t kill him. Meeting Kaheroton made Ian realize he was a Mohawk and a Scotsman at the same time.
