In the Dropout Season 1 Episode 7, Fuisz draws the attention of journalist John Carreyrou to Theanos fraud. However, despite his best efforts, Fuisz failed to find sufficient evidence against Theanos and Holmes. Carreyrou insists he can only use Gardner and Rochelle as second sources, but he will need proof of someone with first-hand experience of working in Theanos.

The Dropout Season 1 Episode 6: Recap
The Dropout Season 1 Episode 6,’ opens with Elizabeth Holmes working with acclaimed director Errol Morris on filming Theanos’s ad. At the time, Richard Fuisz was contacting Wall Street Journal journalist John Carreyrou. Fuisz discusses Theanos and Carreyrou’s public image before informing a reporter that the entire company is fraudulent. However, Fuisz does not have strong evidence to support his claims.
In Theranos, lab director Mark Roessler directs young people, Erika Cheung, through the riding process. Roessler persuaded Cheung to sign a series of non-disclosure agreements. While discussing his activities with Roessler, Cheung meets Holmes for the first time. Later, Cheung was assigned to his lab counter and collaborated with Tyler Shultz. However, you soon see a place with high pressure in Theanos.
Elsewhere, Holmes’ popularity in and around Silicon Valley continues to grow. Former Fuisz and Holmes philosopher Phyllis Gardner discussed how to present the truth about Holmes and Theranos. While working on testing blood samples in the Walgreens, Shultz, and Cheung bond machines. However, Cheung was soon aware of the tensions in Theanos.
Cheung and Shultz are concerned about the impact of Theranos’ fraudulent data and retrieval of it. The duo also discovered that Theranos was using a modified Siemens machine to be tested at Walgreens. However, they kept their findings secret for now. Shultz talks to Holmes about the inaccuracies of the labs he believes he doesn’t know what’s really going on.
At the time, Gardner and Fuisz spoke to Ian Gibbons’ widow, Rochelle Gibbons, as a possible source for Theranos. At Holmes’ birthday party, Shultz realizes that Holmes is aware of the differences in lab results. Shultz and Cheung’s interference eventually led to both being fired from the company.
Shultz and Cheung discussed the situation with Shultz’s grandfather, George Shultz, a member of the Theanos board. Yet they do not find support in him as he strongly supports Holmes. Carreyrou continues his search for a strong source to support Theanos’ claims and expose the company.
