Our Flag Means Death Season 1 Episode 9 & 10: Recap
In Our Flag Means Death Season 1 Episode 9,’ Chauncey raises the Revenge team with questions about the murder of his twin. Blackbeard (Taika Waititi) tries to claim that he is the one who killed Nigel, but Chauncey does not believe it. Stede’s (Rhys Darby) journal is available, and its contents – though absurd and exaggerated – provide some true translations. Finally, convinced that he had only caused suffering and death in an attempt to escape his disgraceful life, Stede agrees to kill Nigel.
Both he and Blackbeard should be placed in front of the shooting team, but Izzy convinces Chauncey to release his captain from his cell. As soon as Stede is about to be assassinated, Blackbeard calls for an Act of Grace, a proclamation issued by King George announcing that he will pardon any robber who leaves his criminal life and fights for the British crown in their battle with Spain. Seeing that the man he believed had killed his brother was now out of his hand, Chauncey was mentally disturbed and arrested by his police.
Stede and Blackbeard were then sent to the Royal Privateering Academy of Wayward Seamen. There, Blackbeard continues to embrace the “Ed” part of his personality. The two men hold each other close, and one day they sit on the beach and kiss each other. Blackbeard has come up with a plan that includes running away from school and going to China. Stede agrees.
However, on the night of their escape, Chauncey comes to face Stede and kills himself by mistake. Stede’s family has been on his mind for a long time now. After Chauncey’s death, Stede reexamines his life and decides to return to his family. At that moment, the sad Blackbeard returns to Revenge and becomes his adult.
