The Gilded Age Season 1 Episode 9 Begins,’ Marian prepares to speak to Raikes. Everyone around him has doubts about this young man, not just Agnes. Because of her negligence, Marian still clings to the belief that she will marry him just as she has promised. Ada finds out that her nephew is running away. Although he desperately wants to do that, she does not stop the young woman.
Meanwhile, at Scott’s house, a member of the house staff finds a note in one of Arthur’s pockets and hands it to Dorothy. When she reads it, she seems moved by what it contains. When Peggy returned home, she told her daughter about it. Soon Peggy begins to separate, seeing the magnitude of what her father is hiding from her.
As Gladys and Carrie prepare for their soccer dance, Bertha visits Mrs. Astor to invite him personally to the ball. However, she is told that Ms. Astor is not there and has been turned away from the door. When she sees someone else being allowed in, she realizes that Ms. Astor does not want to meet him. Like her husband, Bertha can be incredibly cruel when she needs to be. She returns home and tells her family that they are removing Carrie from the list of dancers.
The mysterious woman Baudin was seen talking to his estranged wife. After hearing that he was now working for the Russell family, she came to seek redress. She has some power over Baudin, so he does the only sensible thing left to do and talks to George, admitting that he is not really French. He is Josh Bourdain, originally from Wichita, Kansas. Josh worked as a sailor for a while, eventually ending up on his way to Cannes. There he started working in a restaurant and eventually received much-needed training.
When he arrived in New York, he found that no one wanted to hire a Wichita cook. Therefore, he incorporated French identity and taught himself to speak false French. By the time he joined the staff of the Russell family, the exhibition had been going on for some time. Even though Bertha chases him, he enters for Russell where his replacement is drunk on football day. After that, Bertha and George sent her back to work.
