Bheeshma Parvam marks the second collaboration of director Amal Neerad with megastar Mammootty after the hit song 2007, Big B. The movie is inspired by the Mahabharata, as the title suggests, and the old Hollywood movie, The Godfather. Bheeshma Parvam is set in the ’80s and focuses on a powerful Christian family called Anjootti. Michael, played by Mammootty, is a family head and lifelong bachelor who is committed to keeping his family together.
His word is the law there. The only problem is not all of his family members who take care of his metal hand rule but who care about the parent and devise ways to get him out of the way. Bheeshma Parvam comprises support groups including Soubin Shahir, Nadiya Moidu, Shine Tom Chacko, Sreenath Bhasi, Anagha, Farhaan Faasil, Lena, Sudev Nair, Harish Uthaman, among others. KPAC Lalitha recently left and Nedumudi Venu also played an important role in the Bheeshma Parvam movie.
Bheeshma Parvam: Movie Synopsis
The story of Bheeshma, and The Godfather. Done? Good. Let’s move on. So Michael is the ‘Bheeshma’ of his family, an invincible man, in his words, trying to keep his family together (the Christian part of his family does not see eye to eye with their Muslim relatives), and he fails miserably in that.
With the support of ‘foreigner’ Rajan (Sudev Nair), and the plots of other bad relatives, his nephews Peter (Shine Tom Chacko) and Paul (Farhan) killed his beautiful nephew, Ami (Sreenath Bhasi). As Ami’s angry old Ajas (Soubin Shahir) seeks the blood of the assassins, it seems that the Anjootti family is ready for its battle of Kurukshetra.
The only difference is that here the Kauravas send their kind old uncle to the Pandavas side with Peter’s blessings and cooperation, Rajan sends his men to kill Michael. In the battle of Mahabharata, Arjuna puts Shikhandi forward to attack and bring down Beeshmah, knowing that Beeshma will not take up arms against the transgender person. The lines between the Kauravas and the Pandavas are blurred, as are criminals trying to kill Michael.
Instead of Bheeshma being struck with hailstones, Michael is stabbed and cut with knives, although he, unlike Bheeshma, fights his attackers. When Bheeshma lies on a bed of arrows until the end of the war, Michael has his own hospital bed, after failing to survive a deadly attack on him. But he survives and does not wait for Uttarayan to die, unlike his mythical counterpart.

Even James, Molly’s brother hates Michael because he did not campaign for James, as he did nothing for his constituents. Martin also does not like Michael because he feels he has no power over his family as Michael did.
As a result of these conflicts James, Fr. Simon, Peter, and Paul got together and decided to bring the youngest member of Kocheri, Rajan who is a major donor to Mumbai. Rajan then came up with a plan and decided to propose a business idea to Michael, but Michael denies the idea because many poor people will lose their homes and because he knows Rajan is from Kocheri.
At that moment, Fathima and Ajas find out about them and Ajas is scared thinking that the whole family will agree. Able also finds out about Ami and Rachel because of Peter and Paul dragging them along to create a problem. The whole family was called and Fathima and Susan agreed, but Martin did not want to. Michael then took the last phone call saying they were old and could marry anyone they wanted.
Martin’s dislike of Michael turns into hatred and he and James, Fr. Simon, Peter, and Paul call Rajan again and decide to kill Ajas or Ami because it will weaken Michael’s power. He is able to be in the meeting and does not understand that they are planning to kill one of them. Ami and her friends open their cafeteria and when Ami and Rachel return, Ami is killed. However, Ajas returns to his work and Ami’s friend informs Ajas that Peter and Paul are seen with Rajan and that the brothers may be connected to Ami’s death, Ajas goes to their home where he brutally beats Peter and Paul. Before Ajas does anything else, he is interrupted by Michael who tells Ajas to leave just because he heard something. At the same time, Susan leaves Martin because she is tired of her life with him.
Michael then threatens Peter and Paul by saying that if what Ajas says is true, Peter and Paul will not be left behind. Some conspirators plotted to kill Michael and violently attacked Michael when Michael’s close aide Sivankutty died. Michael was taken to the hospital and woke up 3 days later. He and Ajas know the conspirators and understand that the conspirators played a part in the death of Paily and Ali. They decided to take revenge.
Ajas kills Martin by driving a truck over him. Afterward, he and Michael’s accountant and another aide Mani approached James and said that they had given all the evidence containing his fraud and that the police were coming to arrest him. James said he would be released from prison immediately, with Ajas replied that he and Michael would be waiting for him outside.
Ajas then filed a lawsuit against Fr. Simon the priest attacked the family and Ajas assured the family that nothing would happen to them. Fr. Then he was arrested. Peter and Paul are hiding and Ajas follows them and kills Peter but allows Paul to live and deport him. Rajan is then killed with his help because his boss orders him and Michael, Ajas, and Mani to come to see the murder to make sure he dies. Finally, Ajas is now in Michael’s place but Michael gets into action whenever needed. “Bheeshma Parvam.”
