The Gilded Age Season 1 Episode 7: Synopsis
The Gilded Age Season 1 Episode 7 “Irresistible Change” Bertha goes all out for lunch to please Mr. McAllister, asking for Bannister’s help – he rubs the Church in the wrong way. George struggles to protect his reputation in the community, and Agnes’ condition is disrupted.

The Gilded Age Season 1 Episode 6: Recap
The Gilded Age Season 1 Episode 6 begins with George and Bertha visiting the scene of the accident. Clara Barton is already there, helping the victims. George donates more to the American Red Cross and assures her that Bertha will be present during the next meeting of the charity. Later, it turned out that the accident was caused by fatigue of the metal and the broken axles, which means that the wrong parts were installed. This, in turn, means that someone on George’s company’s list of executives is responsible for the accident and five deaths that resulted.
Bertha sympathizes with her husband’s concerns but is even more concerned about the fact that McAllister has agreed to have lunch at their home. This, along with the way she treated Gladys, created a rift between George and Bertha. Apart from this, they continue to introduce themselves as a unit to their children and around the world. As well as informing Bertha of McAllister’s interest in visiting Russell’s home, Aurora tells him that he prefers British service. Now, the Church controls the workers in Russell’s home, and he has little knowledge of British service. In contrast, Bannister is British by birth and trained to entertain guests in the way of his homeland.
The church asks for Bannister’s help with the ministry. When Bertha saw them talking, she appointed Banister to oversee the service itself, much to the dismay of the Church. Elsewhere, Oscar and Ms. Turner get together and plan their next move. They were seen together by Mrs. Armstrong, who introduced Agnes.
