Peacemaker Season 1: Synopsis
The eighth episode of ‘Peacemaker’ is titled ‘It’s a Cow or Never’ and opens with Adebayo apologizing to Peacemaker for planting a diary in his house. Soon, the group arrives near Cloverdale Ranch where the Butterflies keep a Cow, an alien creating food for them. Adebayo calls Amanda Waller and reports the situation while requesting a backup.
However, Harcourt insists that they have very little time before the Butterflies send the Cow. Therefore, the team must quickly come up with a plan to kill the Cow and prevent the Butterflies’ plan from succeeding.
Adebayo proposes to use a Peacemaker helmet to eliminate Butterflies guarding the farm. However, when the Peacemaker tries to use Eagly’s help in placing a helmet near the barn, the bird drops its helmet into the woods. The group finds the helmet, but the Peacemaker is puzzled by the idea of his late father, August Smith.
The team dressed John as one of the police officers to sneak into the farm and put on a helmet. However, John is frightened after seeing the Cow and takes off his hat before running away. John is caught, but Adebayo blows up the farm with a helmet to cause a disturbance.
The Butterflies retreated, and the Peacemaker, Vigilante, and Harcourt decided to invade their enemies and kill the Cow. During the ensuing war, however, the Peacemaker is trapped in a dungeon. Vigilante and Harcourt, on the other hand, were injured and taken out. Adebayo intervenes and removes the remaining Butterflies.
However, before he rescues the Peacemaker, Detective Song saves him and reveals a real alien plan. Finally, based on the latest information, the Peacemaker will have to make a decision that will determine the outcome for mankind.
Peacemaker Season 1: Ending,
In the final episode of this episode, Peace Maker learns from Queen Butterfly who lives inside Detective Song’s body through a real alien program. Butterflies came to Earth from home, which eventually became uninhabited. While living peacefully on Earth, they came to realize that humans have made similar mistakes. The Butterflies, therefore, are committed to preventing humanity from destroying itself. So, by taking the bodies of the most important people in the world, the Butterflies are furthering their agenda.
Peacemaker is given the opportunity to join the Butterflies. Like the Butterflies – who have vowed to protect mankind no matter how costly life may be – the Peacemaker also believes in peace by all means. Thus, the ideas of the Peacemaker and the butterflies seem to go hand in hand.
At the last minute, however, the Peacemaker passes the Queen Butterfly and uses a torpedo helmet worn by Adebayo to kill the Cow. With the Cow dead, the Butterflies have no chance of surviving on Earth and will soon end.
Finally, the Peacemaker saves the day with the help of his teammates. The hero also completes his redemptive journey by making the right moral choices only after carefully considering the cost of his decision. As the team left, the Justice League arrived to extend a hand.
However, it is too late, and our heroes are in control. This time serves as an obvious motivation for the team to finish the job and show great courage in doing so. Finally, the Peacemaker, Adebayo, Harcourt, John, and Vigilante proved to be one of the world’s foremost heroes.
With the Butterflies’ threat dismissed, the Peacemaker can now look to the future with confidence. After Harcourt’s awakening, he and Peacemaker shared a tender moment that marked the beginning of a bond between them. At last, Adebayo arrives clean in the media about the origin of the Peacemaker diary.
He accuses his mother, Amanda Waller, of using black ops machine prisoners as part of her Task Force X. So, Adebayo blocks Waller’s attempt to make Peacemaker a fall project for Project Starfish. Finally, the Peacemaker appears to have gained his freedom and is returning to his chariot home.
A different challenge awaits the hero during the closing episode. The Queen Butterfly returns to Peacemaker, who feeds her the last yellow liquid. Egly is also by her side, and it looks like the Peacemaker will open a beer and enjoy the sunset. The peacemaker is experiencing a literal version of his father joining him as he sits outside his house. The moment shows that the Peacemaker continues to suffer the loss of his father.
Moreover, the mistreatment of his father had already distorted the hero’s mind. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how the Peacemaker deals with his growing psychological problems in the future. The peacemaker’s struggle with his mental health can eventually endanger his life or that of his colleagues in the act of action. However, those are the problems that we will one day worry about. As the season draws to a close, Peacemaker is enjoying a much-needed break.
