The cast and crew once left the Vancouver area. They filmed a few scenes, including an indoor studio sequence, in the town of Burnaby in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia. To facilitate the filming of the film, a team of filmmakers hosted the British Columbia Institute of Technology, a polytechnic community center located at Southwest 3, White Avenue, Burnaby.
Part of the filming took place at Canadian Motion Picture Park Studios, a large film production facility located at 8085 Glenwood Drive in Burnaby. The interiors of the apartments and offices were built from scratch through soundtracks, while the workers used green screens to capture scenes of Mars and Antarctica. The main studio is spread across all 350,000 square meters, including 18 fully equipped stations.

In a memorable sequel to the “Watchmen” movie, Drs. Manhattan reappeared at the military base after his accident. The sequence was recorded near Crease Clinic, an old Veteran Unit building on the grounds of Riverview Hospital in Coquitlam. The Mental Health Center 2601 Lougheed Highway, Riverview Hospital, closed in July 2012. However, it has always been a popular recording studio, starring in films such as ‘Deadpool 2’ and ‘Butterfly Effect.’
The production team also filmed a few scenes in New Westminster municipality, about 21 kilometers southeast of Downtown Vancouver. Recording of a few scenes took place at Terminal Pub. The group also took photographs on the premises of Tanex Industries, a construction supplier located at 1017 Royal Avenue in the area under New Westminster.
