‘The Negotiator’ was recorded in and around the US and UK, especially in California and Illinois. Recording began on September 1, 1997, and ended on November 25 of that year. Russell Carpenter, best known for his work on the ‘Titanic,’ has worked as a filmmaker, while Holger Gross (famous for ‘Stargate’) is in charge of production.

The band acquired Raleigh Studios Hollywood, the largest movie studio located at 5300 Melrose Avenue East in the famous Hollywood district of LA. The historic studio is located in the heart of Hollywood and offers 13 fully functional audio segments to facilitate the production of various sizes.
The 635 South Mateo Street Commercial Center represented the police station scenes in the film. Part of the filming took place in the nearby community of Long Beach, in the same area of LA County. Park scenes, which may have occurred in Chicago, were filmed at El Dorado Regional Park, located at 7550 East Spring Street in the Long Beach community. Staff also advertised the famous Duck Pond, which forms the center of the park.

“The Negotiator.” With the movie set up in Chicago, a team of filmmakers visited the city to observe some of the original layout features. They toured the city, filming the sequel to Downtown Chicago and the Near West Side. A few scenes were recorded at 77 West Wacker Drive (formerly United Building), an office tower in the center of the Loop business district.
The group also selected the Penn Central Freight Yards, a warehouse that is now inactive in the Near West Side community, to record specific scenes. In the changing scene in the movie, the SWAT team descends on the roof. The sequence was recorded in the Quaker Oats Building, a 17-story building at 555 West Monroe Street, in the Near West Side. The building previously housed PepsiCo headquarters.
