The Silent Sea Season 1: Synopsis
The story of the Silent Sea is set in the not-too-distant dystopian era when the planet is plagued by water and food shortages caused by desertification. A team of inspectors was formed consisting of Han Yun-Jae, played by Gong Yoo, an astronaut, and designated team leader, and Song Ji-an, played by Bae Doo-Na, to go to the moon.
Their goal is to obtain a mysterious sample, later known as Luna Water, from a disused research station. Drs. Song Ji-an astronomer determined to uncover the truth after an accident at the late Balhae Base research station.
As the leader of the team of inspectors, Gong Yoo should perform this important task with limited knowledge. Throughout the show, he seems to put the safety of his team members above all else. He will do nothing to keep his team safe even if that means risking his life.
Another actor in the show is Lieutenant Ryoo Tae-Seok, starring Lee Joon, a senior engineer and a special member of the National Defense Department. He volunteered for the job in an attempt to avoid a bad situation in the Department. The Silent Sea Season 1 Ending Explained
Very few people survive the end of The Silent Sea. Finally, only two of the 11 people who started the missions survived, Drs. Hong and Drs. Song Luna, the only test subject that ever survived the Luna Water tests, was a superhuman, heavyweight child. However, he was not part of the original machine. Luna found her and returned her daughter’s sticker badge to her. He doesn’t take the badge but sees Luna who can now live in the Moon’s atmosphere without a spacesuit.
Before he dies, he realizes that his work is finished. However, it is not the first job, but the goal he and Drs. The song they agreed on, which was to save Luna and the sample to ensure hope for her daughter and all mankind. The fact that he managed to save Luna and was able to see her for the last time is significant because she represents her daughter and the love she has for him.
