‘How I Fell in Love with a Gangster’ was recorded in various realities in Poland and Lithuania, especially in Warsaw, Milanówek, Gdańsk, and Vilnius. Major photography probably began in March 2021 and wrapped up in early May of that year.
Actors and staff had a great time recording and often shared photos on social media in their old getups.
Poland
‘How I Fell in Love with a Gangster’ was heavily recorded in Warsaw, the capital of Poland. Actors and crew filmed at several locations in the city, including the Służewiec Racetrack in Puławska 266 which hosted horse racing events. Warsaw is located on the Vistula River and is an important international center for economic, cultural, and political activity.
The densely populated city is full of European historic buildings and has a spectacular view of the city, making it an excellent photography site. Each year it hosts the prestigious Warsaw International Film Festival, featuring films and documentaries from around the world. In addition, films such as ‘The Pianist,’ ‘365 Days,’ and ‘Mr. Jones ’was also recorded in Warsaw.
Some sections of ‘How I Fell in Love with a Gangster’ were recorded in the city of Milanówek. It lies near the Grodzisk Mazowiecki district near Warsaw and is home to a few historical monuments such as St. Hedwig Church and the house of Turczynek. The town witnessed significant developments during the Warsaw revolt and World War II.
A few important scenes from ‘How I Fell in Love with a Gangster’ were recorded in Gdańsk, a town on the Baltic coast in the northern part of the country. The organizers’ team also selected the Gdańsk Shipyard, formerly known as the Lenin Shipyard, as one of the shooting range.
