Abbott Elementary Season 1 Episode 1 introduces Janine Teagues, a second-grade teacher at a Philadelphia public school with limited resources. However, her friendships with colleagues Barbara Howard, Melissa Schemmenti, Jacob Hill, and Gregory Eddie made her time easier. One of the students urinates in the classroom in the middle of the class, so Janine asks Principal Ava Coleman to donate money to buy a new one, and she is teased by Barbara.
Ava also tries to persuade Janine to send an email stating her request. However, none of the teachers kept Ava respected, considering how she was hired because she caught a superintendent cheating on his wife. In addition to Gregory’s annoying dislike, Ava spends $ 3,000 allocated to the school district on buying a large vanity sign instead of using it for practical purposes. As a result, Janine filed a complaint against Ava via email.
The email is returned to Ava, who then asks all teachers to speak about Janine at a trust meeting. Barbara and others took Janine’s side and encouraged her to continue fighting for school.
