Piper Perabo was born on October 31, 1976, in Dallas, Texas. Named after the character Piper Laurie. She is of Portuguese and Norwegian descent. She grew up in Toms River, New Jersey, and is the oldest of three children by Mary Charlotte Ulland, a physiotherapist, and George William Perabo, a professor of poetry at Ocean County College.
In high school, she appeared in all four hymns of the year, and in her senior year, she was Katie in “Meet Me In St. Louis;” junior year, Cousin Fan in “Mame;” second year, Lady Brighton in “Me and My Girl;” and the new year, the dancer “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.”
