“The Shack” was filmed in British Columbia, Chicago, and Oregon. An established shot of Mount Baker in the state of Washington is also used in the movie. The main photography of the movie started on 8 June 2015 and continued till 29 July 2015.
British Columbia
Cultus Lake is a lake and tributary in the Fraser Valley region of British Columbia. “The Shack” was filmed in Cultus Lakes Provincial Park. Situated on the shores of a freshwater lake, the park offers spectacular views of the forested mountains that surround the area. Filming also took place at the Sunnyside Campground, a popular destination near the lake. Campground Provides camping and tenting on the lakefront.
Squamish is a picturesque community in the province of British Columbia. The shooting in Squamish took place in Stavmus Chief Park, which features huge granite peaks at the southern entrance to Squamish. The bridge, which offers iconic views of the falls, was developed by Simon Benson in the early 20th century. Filming also took place in Volvo Lake State Park on the south shore of Lake Volvo in Valvo County, Oregon. The park offers mesmerizing views of the Volvo Mountains around the glacial lake.
