Station Eleven Season 1 Episode 3: Recap
Station Eleven Season 1 Episode 3 begins with Arthur Leander performing ‘King Lear’ on stage, appearing to have suffered a heart attack and collapsed in the middle. Audience member Jeevan tried to help, but it was too late. As they walk out of the theater, they find a child actress named Kirsten, who has not found a guardian.
Jeevan decides to help Kirsten return home, but gets a call from her sister, a doctor, informing her of the deadly flu that has begun to spread. She asked him to go to his brother Frank’s apartment where he lives, but only after he bought thousands of dollars worth of emergency groceries.
Across the apartment, Kirsten, Jeevan, and Frank see the world slowly coming to a halt as the pandemic spreads. A plane crashed in front of them, eventually cutting off the power as well. Eighty days after Jeevan and Kirsten leave the building we see them heading towards the lake. Through flashbacks, we see that Kirsten became close with Arthur and gave him a copy of the graphic novel ‘Station Eleven’.
Another time was the leap, and we took the devastating flu twenty years later. Kirsten, now an adult, travels with a group of Shakespearean actors from around the Great Lakes. They are well-loved and are residents of various small human camps where the community looks forward to their visits.
Going back to the time before the disaster, we got acquainted with Miranda, who befriended Arthur, and eventually the two become lovers.
