Swagger Season 1 Episode 8″, opens after perhaps the team’s toughest match. Jess and her partner get together and vow “never hurt anymore” while Ike faces harsh criticism from Jenna and other parents for putting their children in a dangerous situation.
However, the coach fired back, saying that he had allowed the players to make their own decisions and that they had decided to kneel while the national anthem was being sung before the match.
Crystal Swagger also strives for DMV and easily knocks out most players, confirming her place on the team. Meanwhile, not yet satisfied with his response, Jenna Ike begins to dig into history and realizes that the coach may have thrown her last game in college.
Jess refuses to believe him, but his fears are confirmed when he encounters Ike. Episode 8 ends with a sad note, with Jess and Ike ending their friendship and moving away from each other.
