“A Thousand Fangs” takes viewers through the dense jungles of the Amazon. Guillermo Escalona and Jaime Osorio describe Marquez Creation as an elite commando who begins a quest to lead a team of shooters, kill all targets and retreat into the safe zone. They must find and eliminate an effective leader who lives in the middle of the jungle. However, their goal turns out to be fatal, as they become the targets of a mysterious organization.
The inspiring ensemble cast, including Claudio Catano, Alejandro Butrago, Carolina Ribbon, Andrea Olaya, and Carlos Alberto Marino, leads an intense and thrilling series. The story slowly unravels a more than 500-year-old mystery hidden deep in the jungle. The jungle is dense, dark, and labyrinthine and this becomes an important theme in the series. ‘A Thousand Fangs’ was filmed in and around Colombia. A Thousand Fangs Season 1 was filmed in 2018, but the cast and crew returned to the sets in November 2021 to film the second season. Colombia is one of 17 megadiverse in the world, along with Australia, the US, and India. The country has attracted filmmakers, novelists, and artists due to its rich biodiversity and dense forests.
In the past filming in this area was difficult, due to its abuse and rampant bureaucratic corruption, but the landscape is changing rapidly. From ‘Memories of My Father’ to ‘Narcos’, many movie and television programs consider Colombia a viable production site.
Colombia
Most of the story takes place in the middle of a rainforest. With rapid population and industrialization, the area of biodiversity under consideration is declining in size. But fortunately, the Colombian government stepped in to stop deforestation.
A Thousand Fangs Season 2 of filming took place partly in the beautiful tree-lined town of Colossae in the Sucre department in northern Colombia. The area was once the center of the Sino or Xeno culture and is still famous for its centuries-old ceramics and gold handicrafts.
The team also visited some tourist spots to bring the natural calamities alive. They captured scenes in and around Puerto Tianfo, the city, and the municipality of the Antioquia Department in northern Colombia. The crew mainly filmed scenes in the downtown Doradale neighborhood. Hasinda Napoleon, far from the city, was once ruled by Pablo Escobar.
