“Life” Helm by “Easy Money” Fame Swedish filmmaker Daniel Espinosa is a 2017 sci-fi horror movie with a clean-cut to satisfy fans of stunning effects, detailed visuals, star-studded cast, and genre. There is a neat twist. The story takes the audience into the near future, where an accidental life form threatens the earth. A team of scientists working at the International Space Station has intercepted an unmanned space orbit on its way from Mars to Earth. Soil samples have been rumored to contain traces of an alien creature called ‘Kelvin’.
Jack Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds, Rebecca Ferguson, and Hiroyuki Sanada play the lead roles in the supernatural horror venture. Although it was unexpectedly banned by critics, fans found the sweet compound, as evidenced by its box office collections. Much like the movies in the genre, the story unfolds in a claustrophobic space station, but we see snippets of changing times around the world. Life.

Life Movie Filming Locations
‘Life’ was filmed in the vicinity of England, America, and Vietnam. Filming began on 19 July 2016 and ended shortly thereafter. The movie was produced by Skydance Media in association with Columbia Pictures and Elstar Capital.
Many post-production scenes were added by Double Negative, who provided the effects for “Batman Begins,” “2012,” and “Annihilation.” The eight-minute-long opening scene was co-produced by Industrial Light & Magic.
England
“Life.” As is often the case in science-fiction films, space scenes are created in studios using green screens. The movie was no exception, and the director and his team chose a studio in the Shepperton suburb of Surrey. The prestigious movie studio Shepherdon Studios, located on Studio Road in Shepparton, has provided its premises for a challenging production.
Founded in 1931 as sound movie production and recording studio, the facility now has 15 full-fledged sound stages to assist with filming. To mimic their suspended status, the cast was hung from the ceiling and strings placed in post-production. The ISS model used in this image is constructed by the double negative.
Vietnam
Eventually, some scenes were filmed in Vietnam. In the final scene of the movie, the dreaded pod descends into the green-colored sea between the mountains. If that scene reminds you of Southeast Asia on the bat, you made no mistake.
This sequence is depicted in Ho Long Bay, a coastal enclave with vast limestone islands in northeastern Vietnam. This bay is popular among tourists for kayaking trips.
New York
Science-fiction Life films require a broader perspective and, therefore, directors often choose to portray them worldwide. Although Daniel Espinosa intended to create a sense of claustrophobia, one particular scene was filmed in New York City.
You may remember the news clip showing a glimpse of Times Square. That sequence was originally filmed in Iconic Square in downtown NYC. From Martin Scorsese’s “Taxi Driver” to Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man”, Times Square has played a key role in the storyline of many provocative films.
