‘Under the Vines’ describes a relentless journey filled with the promise of a new beginning. Social man Daisy Monroe inherited his deceased stepfather’s reduced vineyard, which required some work. As she plans to sell her space after the renovation, her meeting with co-owner Louise brings a refreshing passion to her life.
None of them, however, have an understanding of the winemaking business. Daisy Monroe plays Rebecca Gibney as “The Crown” alum Charles Edwards Louis Oakley. They will be the central pair along with them on the skilled cast and crew journey. You may be wondering where the beauty scene series on Acorn TV and TVNZ joint venture was filmed.
Where Was Under the Vines Series Filmed?
“Under the Vines” was filmed entirely in and around New Zealand, especially in Central Otago. Principal photography began on February 9, 2021, and ended on April 20 of the same year. New Zealand is a hub for film and television productions.
First, it is home to world-class directors and a state-of-the-art production facility. The natural beauty of the earth is edible, and the cool and bright climate guarantees production crews.
New Zealand
Almost all of the Under the Vines series was filmed in and around Central Otago, the most inland part of the region of the same name, located in the southern part of the South Island. The mountain range offers a panoramic view of the upper reaches of the Kluta River and its tributaries. The weather in the area was generally dry and sunny, but the crew rained on the first day of filming “Under the Vines”.

The production staff did not bother with the rain as it was considered auspicious in tribal culture. They got together to make Maori prayers and prepared for the shooting. Producer Erin White wrote about the sudden rain, “… obviously this is a good thing – energetic cleaning and refilling.

Then we are doubly blessed. My heart feels the same way. If you ever visit New Zealand, be sure to add inland to your bucket list. If the mountain landscape is not enough, the alpine herb farms and wineries in the area will melt your heart.
