“Hip Hop Family Christmas” was filmed entirely in Texas, especially in and around Houston. Major photography took place at the beginning of the fall of 2021. The movie was co-produced by Foxhole Productions, MTV Entertainment Studios, and Nexus Films. Texas has a passionate filmmaking community and production scene.
Although the region’s creative potential is not comparable to that of California or Louisiana, Texas still hosts SXSW, one of the largest movie festivals in the country.
