“A Castle for Christmas” follows best-selling American author Sophie Brown as she travels to a Scottish castle to escape the stigma attached to her book. The castle, which appears extensively in his grandfather’s stories, is now owned by Miles, Duke of Dunbar. When Sophie decides to buy Castle, the conflict between Sophie and Miles leads them to a contradictory start. But the brilliance of the Christmas season fosters harmony and attachment between them.

“A Castle for Christmas” was filmed entirely in Scotland, particularly in Edinburgh, South Queensferry, and the East Lothian.
Principal photography began in the second half of September 2020 and lasted until November 11, 2020.

The filming of ‘A Castle for Christmas’ took place mainly in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. Some important scenes were filmed at Edinburgh Airport. Situated on the southern edge of the Firth of Forth, the city is famous for its breathtaking architecture, mesmerizing natural landscape, beautiful urban spaces, and monuments. The city’s Old Town and New Town are both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Edinburgh is also the axis for entertainment production in Scotland.
The main photography was done on and around the Dalmani House property, a gothic revival mansion in the city of South Queensferry, west of Edinburgh. It refers to the Dun Dunbar Castle seen in the picture. The building was designed by the famous English architect William Wilkins and was completed in 1817. The property is in a mesmerizing wooden park overlooking the Firth of Forth.
The greatness of Dalmani House is shown in great detail in the movie. Although the romantic drama was not filmed in the winter, the production team was able to bring the Christmas charm to the Dolmani House grounds with the help of artificial snow and other Christmas decorations.
According to sources, the crew also filmed some scenes at the Dakota Hotel, a prominent high-end establishment located on the Ferry Muir in South Queensferry. Mary Lambert was one of the first major productions to begin filming in the country after the initial lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
East Lothian is a picturesque area south of the Firth of Forth in Scotland. Lifetime movie was filmed primarily in Tantallon Castle, a ruined 14th-century castle facing the story. The castle was built by William Douglas I, Earl of Douglas. Due to its unique structure that opens on three sides to the sea peaks, the palace attracts a sea of visitors.
