Due to the snow-covered landscape covered with pine and spruce, this area serves as an ideal location for the lensing of the movie. The area is associated with the Father Christmas story, the inspiration behind this movie. Filming also took place in the village of Kilpisservi in the Enantasio Municipality in the Lapland area.
