Malcolm McDowell was born in 1943 in the suburb of Horsforth in Leeds, England, and grew up in Liverpool. His mother Edna is a hotelier and his father Charles is an RAF officer. He has two siblings: an older sister named Gloria and a younger sister named Judy. As a teenager, McDowell worked in a planter’s nut factory and also helped out at his father’s pub in Burscoe, Lancashire.

He began taking acting classes during this time and later moved to London to train at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Initially, Malcolm McDowell worked extensively with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

In 1971, the actor played his most famous role in Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange, which was adapted from Anthony Burgess’s novel Dystopian. For his performance as sadistic criminal Alex Delarge, McDowell received Best Actor nominations from the Golden Globe, the National Society of movie Critics, and the New York movie Critics Circle Awards.

Following this success, he wrote “O Lucky Man!” In 1973. Director Lindsay Anderson was inspired by McDowell’s experience as a coffee salesman. Later credits include “Royal Flash” and the war drama “As High” and “Voyage of the ******”.

Malcolm McDowell ended his successful decade in 1979 with three major films: the war movie “The Passage”, the sci-fi movie “Time After Time” and the ****** historical drama “Caligula.” A few years later, he starred in a remake of “Cat People” and reunited with director Lindsay Anderson for the black comedy “Britannia Hospital”. In 1983, McDowell starred in memorable roles in the action thriller “Blue Thunder”, the romance “Cross Creek” and the musical comedy “Get Crazy”. Later in the 80s, he was on “The Collar,” “Buy and Sell,” “Sunset,” and “Mortachi.”

In the early ’90s, Malcolm McDowell wrote “Moon 44,” “Disturbed,” “Schweitzer,” “The Assassin of the Jar,” “Night Train to Venice,” and “Bofa!” Like in the movies. One of his most important episodes was the 1994 “Star Trek Generation” in which he played the mad scientist Dr. Tolian Soren, the man best known to “Star Trek” fans as the man who killed Captain Kirk.

The following year, McDowell starred as another villain in the comic book adaptation “Tank Girl”. His other credits in the 90s include “Fist of the North Star,” “Kids of the Round Table,” “Asylum,” “Hugo Pool,” “Love Lies Bleeding,” and “My Life So Far.”

McDowell made his debut as a psychopathic gangster in the 2000s crime movie “Gangster No. 1” with a memorable episode. They followed it up with “Just Visiting,” “I Spy,” “I Will Sleep When I Am Dead” and Robert Altman’s “The Company”. In 2004, McDowell starred in “Pact with the Devil,” “Avilenko,” and “Bobby Jones: A ****** of Genius.” Over the next decade, he appeared in films such as “The List” and “Doomsday”, and in Rob Zombie’s “Halloween” and “Halloween II” Dr. Starring Samuel Loomis.

In early 2010, he made guest appearances on “CSI: Miami” and “The Mentalist”. One of McDowell’s biggest television characters, he began playing Stanton Infield in 2011 on the TNT legal series “Franklin & Bosch”.
