‘The Deep House’ is a terrifying mystery movie that follows a young couple in the depths of the lake. Looking at the horror scenes of their online videos, Ben and Tina dive into the underwater room, only to discover that it has been the scene of horrific crimes in the past. Now, exhausted and trapped in a house by bad associations, the couple tries to hold on to their minds as they struggle to find a way out.
The story takes place mostly underwater, and the claustrophobic feeling of being trapped underground is one of the most unique and effective movie tactics.
The Deep House Filming Locations
‘The Deep House’ is set almost entirely in France and was recorded in a few places in Southern France. The production also spent a significant amount of time recording in a studio in Belgium, where several underwater scenes were shot.
One of the movie’s directors, Alexandre Bustillo, described how difficult it was to shoot a movie underwater, saying that all the technical aspects needed to be revived and the established processes to be changed. He even compared it to making a movie for the first time.
The main photography started on January 27, 2020, but had to be stopped on March 13. The covid-19 epidemic reportedly delayed production, and photography resumed on June 15 and continued until June 26, 2020. The production team then spent a few more. days in July recording locally in France. The Deep House.
The product then moved to the Occitanie region in Southern France, where many locations were used for outdoor recording and shots. Most notably, the filming took place near Lake Raviège near the town of Lacaune. As shown in the movie, the lake is surrounded by lush tropical forest and is a popular destination for a variety of activities.

The recording also took place at Lac des Saints-Peyres, another artificial lake located in the Arn River in the region. Eventually, a few more scenes were recorded in the nearby Anglès area.
The Deep House movie is set almost entirely underwater, and most of the recording is done at Studios Lites, located at Fabrieksstraat 81 in the Vilvoorde municipality near Brussels. The studio is known for its world-class indoor water stage, which is 30 feet deep and is used for filming underwater and high-quality movie.
The basement, where Ben and Tina are trapped, is reportedly built on a large grid and can be submerged in water to record scenes in certain parts of the house. The decoration used to install the interior of the house is said to have been built in a nearby warehouse.
The Deep House movie reportedly took place in a tank at a depth of six meters. Since a house could only be lowered into a tank at a rate of about three feet [1 m] an hour, it usually took six hours to lower the “set” into the water tank.
