When A Stranger Calls is a terrifying domestic invasion of an ancient horror legend. The movie is a remake of the 1979 horror movie with the same name as Fred Walton. The story follows Jill Johnson, a 16-year-old high school student, who starts child care work as a punishment for increasing her phone hours.
While her friends are eating breakfast at a fire party, Jill arrives at the Mandrakis den, where she faces an invisible threat in the shadows. Camilla Belle brings a dark tint to the character, and the ambiance of an indie movie is a delight to the eyes.

When A Stranger Calls Horror Movie Filming Locations
‘When A Stranger Calls’ was recorded in the US and surrounding areas, especially in California. Interestingly, the main photography took place on January 1, 2005, and ended on February 28 of that year. This happened in Vancouver.

Much of the story is found in the luxury residential area of Mandrakes. Actors and staff visited Franklin Canyon Park, a community park located in the same district between San Fernando Valley and Beverly Hills, to capture the outdoor sequel.
“When A Stranger Calls.” Internal arrangements, however, are filmed in the studio area. Scenes were filmed at Culver Studios, a large movie production hub located at 9336 West Washington Boulevard, in the Culver City area of LA County.
An additional sequence was taken from Running Springs, a designated census in San Bernardino County, about 80 miles west of Los Angeles. In a memorable scene at the beginning of the movie, Jill’s father, Ben, takes him to his job as a babysitter. Street scenes are recorded in the region.

This may be due to its lush green landscape, exciting art scene, and the profitable tax revenue of the shooting, which made the movie join a long list of brands that have used the British Columbia city to make lenses.
