Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol Season 1 Episode 8: Recap
In The Lost Symbol Season 1 Episode 8,’ it appears that Sato survived the attack. Members of the Leviathan Group found out that Mal’akh was deliberately caught, knowing that his captors would try to break his phone to get information about the tower and the foundation stone.
While they were doing so, the phone sent a virus, giving Mal’akh access to Leviathan’s internal server. He then locks members on everything on the server, including archives and a large wallet. As Peter and Jonathan organize a members’ meeting, the word “Cascade” appears on the group’s computer screens.
The following discussion does not go as Peter thought. Most of the other members decide to accept Mal’akh’s offer and give him Cascade, “a long-distance acoustic technology” that can be used to control crowds and chase troops.
Meanwhile, Langdon and Katherine visited the deceased’s mother, Isabel, who had been suffering from mental illness since Zachary’s death. Katherine tries to tell her mother that Zachary is alive and well, but she doesn’t want to listen. Desperate to protect her mother, Katherine decides to stay, and Langdon stays with her.
That night, Langdon and Katherine fell in love. Later, Langdon receives a check for Isabel from her son. He has long known that Zachary is alive. Katherine makes her mother understand that Mal’akh is not really her son but a bad and dangerous thing.
Isabel gives them the tower and the monument Mal’akh apparently has hidden in her house and tells them that she has already called Mal’akh, and is on her way. When Katherine urged Isabel to come along, the latter refused to comply, claiming that she had made her own choice. When Mal’akh arrives and hears about what happened, he appears to be killing Isabel.
