Ghostland’ is a horror movie that follows two young sisters who have been arrested and tortured in the wrong house. What started as a new home soon turned into a deadly prison as the girls and their mother found themselves brutally assaulted by criminals shortly after moving into the home of their late aunt.
With a twofold view of the two girls, the movie covers a story in which one loses a clue as to which character sees the truth and which one is deceptive. The strange rural setting adds to the horror feeling of the movie as the girls find themselves at the mercy of their abusers with no hope of getting help.
Ghostland Horror Movie Filming Locations
The Ghostland movie was set in Illinois but was actually shot almost all over Manitoba. The deliberate lack of information has made it easier to use one location as an entrance, and many of the movie’s outdoor scenes seem to have been filmed.
The main photography reportedly began in August 2016 and continued in December.
The Ghostland movie was shot mainly in the provincial capital Winnipeg, where it appeared that the movie was shot in and out. Most of the movie is housed in the house, and most of the scenes are probably filmed on detailed sets showing the house the sisters collapsed into.
Actress Taylor Hickson reportedly suffered serious injuries while filming in Winnipeg when she accidentally fell out of a glass window at the door while filming a thrilling episode.
Probably one of the city’s most famous landmarks in the movie Arlington Steel Through Truss Bridge on Arlington Street across the Canadian Pacific Railway in North Winnipeg. A short photo of the car appeared to be taken on a bridge.
The flat landscape of the region provides the setting for many scenes near the beginning of the movie where the family arrives at their new home. The surrounding countryside also seems to be used for outdoor photography to show how far away the house is where the girls are being held.
“Ghostland.” New York City was reportedly used to record a number of movie scenes that could include, too, those depicting Beth’s time in the city as a famous writer.
Scenes showcasing her magnificent home, workplace, and, later in the movie, a tribute party in which she interviews author H.P. Lovecraft was probably recorded on Big Apple.
“Ghostland.” Apparently, the production team also spent time recording in Toronto. This may include sequential studio recording that requires special effect resources that are not available elsewhere.
Scenes depicting Beth’s life as a successful city writer may have been filmed in Toronto.
