In Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol Season 1 Episode 6,’ Sato is not only removed from the case but is forced to retire early. This does not preclude his involvement in the crime. He begins to help Katherine personally and reaches out to Jonathan.

Langdon and Peter pretend to be arguing. The first one throws a chair at the camera, apparently angry. When the Caretaker hurries to the room to stop them, Peter takes him outside. As Peter and Langdon tried to flee, they met Mal’akh outside.
It was then that Mal’akh identified himself as Zechariah. Soon Sato arrives there with the police, and the Caretaker gives up his life so that Mal’akh can escape.
