Carly Pope was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, with his older brother, Kris, who is also an actor, and her younger brother, Alexander. She trained as a dancer until she excelled in theater during high school. She has appeared in shows such as The Odd Couple, playing Mickey, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, starring Titania. She attended Lord Byng Secondary School.
On December 29, 2009, Pope and her brother, Kris, were driving a black BMW on West Georgia Street in Downtown Vancouver when David Fomradas, 31, of Alberta jumped out of a car and shouted for them to pass. When Kris got out of the car, Fomradas jumped out of the front seat and drove into the new CBC studios. Carly broke his ribs and both broken backs, Kris was seriously injured in the ankle, and a passerby was also injured.
