Animal Kingdom Season 6: Cast & Characters
Animal Kingdom Season 6 will see most of the Codys return to our screens, which means key members will once again play their roles. These include Ben Robson as Craig Cody, Shawn Hatosy as Andrew “Pope” Cody, Finn Cole as Joshua “J” Cody, Jake Weary as Deran Cody, and Christina Ochoa as Renn Randall.
Some of the characters introduced in season 5 will return, such as Jon Beavers as Young Jake, Leila George as Young Janine “Smurf” Cody, and Rigo Sanchez as Young Manny. We can also see the feature of Catherine Blackwell, Daniella Alonso, in the flashback sequence as the character dies in season 1.

As for Animal Kingdom Season 6, On January 14, 2021, TNT simplified the series with its Animal Kingdom Season 6 and final release. The news came well before the start of Season 5, which is not surprising, to say the least. However, it seems that Barkin’s absence from Animal Kingdom Season 5 has not been good for the game as there has been significant discrimination against viewers on live ratings + of the same day.
Animal Kingdom Season 6 production seems to have started in early March 2021 and wrapped up in mid-August 2021. However, we may have to wait a while before the much-anticipated final installment begins to show.
Alternatively, the team will need some time for back-production work. In addition, the show usually releases new programs between May and July. Therefore, fans can expect ‘Animal Kingdom Season 6 will be released in 2022.
Animal Kingdom Season 6: Plot
Throughout Animal Kingdom Season 5, the Codys have been trying to deal with Smurf’s death, leaving a void in their lives, personal and work. With his death, the family finds itself in dire straits due to the absence of a leader, and attacks by others seeking revenge do not make things any easier.
Animal Kingdom Season 5 brings many stories from Smurf’s past and how he raised his children while also building a huge and powerful criminal empire. At the end of the season, J and Deran emerged as the new leaders of the Cody criminal family.
With the money they earned from selling Smurf’s flats, they decided to diversify through their businesses, namely, the bowling alley and the Deran bar.
Animal Kingdom Season 6 should look to the past as the focus will be on the transition between Julia, Papa, and Baz. We will see what the future holds for J as he dangerously approaches Penny while making his criminal activities invisible.
Deran Bar was a legitimate business until the end of Animal Kingdom Season 5 when he decided to use it to make money. This could bring new challenges to him, as the DEA already has eyes on it. Moreover, with the discovery of Catherine Blackwell’s body, the Pope could be in serious trouble.
