Safe House Movie Overview
CIA detective Matt Weston manages a Safe House in Cape Town, South Africa. He has a loving girlfriend in Ana, a French medical student who is about to start living in Paris. After living in a safe house for 12 months, he hopes to become a prosecutor and follow his girlfriend to Paris. However, his senior Barlow tells him that he does not have enough experience and qualifications to work for the position in Paris.
Elsewhere in the city, veteran CIA agent Tobin Frost receives a microchip containing sensitive information from MI6 official Alec Wade. As they were leaving, Alec Wade was shot dead by a gunman. Leaving a better option, Tobin Frost commits himself to the American ambassador to the city. Frost is clearly a powerful CIA agent for betraying his country. Matt Weston’s sleepy office is busy as agent Daniel Kiefer and his team brings security to the fourth level of property Frost.
However, soon after officials began investigating Tobin Frost, soldiers stormed the yard and killed Kiefer and the group. Weston puts Frost in the trunk of the car and keeps running. Weston loses his tails after a fierce sequel, but as a result, he plots to cover up the whole world. The microchip contains information that could damage the agency’s reputation, and Weston knew he was just a nest in a comprehensive CIA program.
Looks like everyone wants a piece of Tobin Frost. After receiving a microchip from an adult acquaintance of Alec Wade, he becomes the subject of a CIA tug-of-war. While CIA officers in a safe house keep him harassed, the soldiers want to kill him. As a champion of diversion, Tobin Frost succeeds in other escape routes. Initially, he swaps his robe with a local assailant, and the informant is shot in the street.
Weston made Tobin Frost his main concern as handling the case could give him the ticket he wanted in Paris. Following the rule, Weston takes Tobin Frost to a cheap hotel and puts it down. Frost tries to exploit him emotionally, but Weston seems to hold on. He calls Barlow with the next set of commands. Barlow asks Matt to retrieve a GPS device from a cupboard in Cape Town Stadium and take it to another safe house in the countryside.
However, things did not go well for the crowded stadium as Tobin Frost sought the assistance of local security guards, claiming that Matt had arrested him. The paramedic fled the scene, while after shooting two local officials, Weston became a fugitive. Whitford asks him to be safe, but Weston orders to find Tobin Frost. He remembers Frost wanting to go to the Sun, and on his records, Matt finds a file on Nicaraguan national text Carlos Villar.
When he turned two, he headed for Langa township to find that the gunfire had already begun. While the mercenaries attacked Carlos Villar, Matt and Tobin fled the scene by inches. Meanwhile, Matt is releasing information from the mercenary that they are also working for the CIA. With the revelation, Matt uses first aid to Tobin and takes him to another safe house. Keller, the owner of the safe house, has nice chitchat with Matt. But suddenly he becomes hostile after receiving a text, and after a bitter fist, Matt attacks Keller.
Matt takes the damage off the battlefield and makes no sense. He gets up and sees Barlow next to him. Barlow asks him where the files are, but after learning of the CIA’s involvement in the massacre, Matt is very cautious. Barlow unknowingly discloses that his name is in the file, with the exception of some heavy-duty officials from various international intelligence agencies. Tobin appears to have fled the scene but is returning to watch a game.
After hearing some disturbances outside, Barlow goes out to find a place to burn the grass. As he approaches, an explosion throws him to the ground. Tobin Frost enters and removes the soldiers in succession. But the injured Barlow comes back and throws a bullet in Tobin’s stomach. As Barlow is excited about accomplishing this mammoth feat, Matt throws a gun at him and scores points. Matt tries to keep Tobin informed, but the bullet appears to be fatal, and Tobin passes by.
Finally, Matt arrives at his post in Paris, and the movie ends on a beautiful note, with Matt and Ana taking turns. However, Vargas’ identity remains a secret. Matt caught the abducted man during a night rally in Langa township while other soldiers fled. After resorting to coercion, Matt learned that the soldiers were working for a boy named Vargas, who is also a CIA. Matt knows nothing about this Vargas, and neither the viewers know. Safe House.
However, in another safe house, Barlow ordered the army chief to guard the circuit. Matt realizes that they are in the league with each other. This is the same employer who once dropped a man off with a sniper in the middle of a busy street. We see that this person is Vargas. Vargas and his team appear to be working in secret to eliminate Tobin, apparently taking direct orders from Barlow.
When Tobin gets his hands on sensitive files, he becomes a victim of a CIA chase. He is taken to a safe house by the CIA, but another CIA team kills Kiefer and his gang. After the piece of information emerged, we see that the CIA is not following Tobin – instead, it is following a microchip that could destroy the activities of certain high-ranking officials.
Tobin is not a traitor to his country; rather he is a spy for the growing corruption within the CIA. As Tobin inserts a chip into Carlos’ computer, we see receipts for shadow transactions made by the agency.
Naturally, officials want to upload files immediately. After attacking fellow officer Catherine Linklater, Barlow reveals Matt is on the list. The stakes may be high enough, but as Barlow himself hits the ground hard, he can’t retrieve that file.
Shortly before he dies, Tobin hands Matt a chip, asking him to watch over his health. Back at the Langley office, Whitford asks Matt about the file. While Matt spends nothing in Whitford, he sends files to various media outlets. Corruption inside the center has been uncovered, and at the scene near the end, Whitford is taken to testify before the senator. Safe House.
