Kate Movie Overview
The story begins in Osaka, Japan. While preparing to kill Yakuza’s weight, Kate discovers that she has a daughter. Although Kate protested, she was told to continue working. So, without hesitation, he grabs a gun and kills a Yakuza member. Ten months have passed, and Kate has not been able to put that incident behind her. Plus, you want to start a family.
Therefore, he tells his boss, Varrick as Woody Harrelson, that he is ready to retire. Varrick tries to stop him, but when it becomes clear that Kate has already made a decision, it seems that Varrick agrees. In the evening, he meets Stephen as Michiel Huisman, a young and attractive young man, in a hotel lounge. One thing leads to another, and they have sex.
Later that night, as he sees the man who was supposed to be his last victim, he realizes that it is Kijima as Jun Kunimura, the brother of the man who killed him 10 months ago. Suddenly, he begins to feel unwell and misses the shot. He tries to run away and eventually loses consciousness. When he wakes up, he finds that he is in the hospital. Her doctor tells her that she has acute radiation syndrome, which is caused by exposure to Polonium-204. He notices that Stephen has mixed the substance in his drinks and made sure that he does not drink it himself.
The doctor informs her that she has only one day to live. Kate then takes some incentives to continue the work. He is coming out of the hospital, the first person to follow him down is Stephen, who reveals that he thought he was giving him a roof. The Kijima Clan have been in control of him and his girlfriend for years and gave them freedom when Stephen did this last job for them. Realizing that they are in a similar situation, Kate lets them go.
He then met Varrick and confirmed that his mark at this time was Kijima, the leader of the largest Yakuza family in Tokyo. The person who killed him in Osaka was Kijima’s brother Kentaro. Clearly, poisoning him was a form of revenge. When Kate asks how she can find Kijima, Varrick tells her that Kijima has rarely appeared since the Osaka incident. So, now, Kate has no choice but to work her way up.
He finds Ani as Miku Martineau, Kentaro’s daughter, and kidnaps her, hoping it will force Kijima to come out in public. Instead, the men who came to her also tried to kill Ani, leading Kate to conclude that Ani’s uncle should want Ani dead.
The little girl even believes that Kijima ordered her father’s death, unaware that she was talking to someone who had served a life sentence. Kate feels very guilty and tries to protect Ani with everything she has. Kate learns from Ani that after her father’s death, a man named Renji as Tadanobu Asano replaced Kentaro as Kijima’s lawyer.
Kate almost died while fighting Renji’s boyfriend Jojima as Miyavi, but Ani saves him. They later follow Renji, who tells them that every time Kijima disappears underground, he secretly talks to his superiors that he is returning to his family. Ani decides that this means that her uncle is in the family home of her ancestors. After convincing Ani to stay outside, Kate enters the house alone and confronts the man she has been hunting for all night. However, he begins to talk and express things that he did not think were possible.
Is Kate Dead? Who Killed Her?
Yes, Kate is dead. He succumbs to his wounds and the effects of Polonium-204 in the final scene of the movie. The basis of the movie is actually not whether you will die or not, but, rather, whether you will get the idea of closure or not. Currently poisoned, his death is inevitable. You know it. His enemies know it. And the audience comes to welcome you during the movie.
Varrick apparently had been working with Renji for many years, bringing out the latest opponents and paving the way for his recovery. Kentaro was killed for this reason. Renji also ordered his men to kill Ani after hearing that she had been kidnapped. Ani is the last member of Kijima’s immediate family. Renji believes the removal will continue to clarify his approach to being a family leader.
Although Stephen was the one who infused Polonium isotope into Kate’s wine, he had no idea that what he was being offered by one of Renji’s subordinates was dangerous. It was later revealed that Renji ordered the song after learning from Varrick that Kate wanted to retire. Varrick didn’t know about this, and at the beginning of the crisis, he confronted Renji about it. In the end, her greed for power proves to be far more important to her than any obligation she shares with Kate.
Even after learning that Renji had poisoned Kate, Varrick had no heart to be part of his family. Although Kate has been a killer since she was very young, rescue work becomes the last goal of her life. Meeting Kijima and the men who are still loyal to him, Kate attacks Renji’s headquarters. Kijima confronts Renji before beheading him, while Kate finds Varrick. They shoot at each other, and Varrick is seriously injured. The movie ends with Kate lying in Ani’s arms, and her heart stops beating.
Who Killed Kate’s Parents?
Using Ani’s circumstances, the movie reveals that Varrick was responsible for Kate’s parents’ death. In retrospective cases, it is shown that Varrick found Kate after the murder of her parents. He was less than 12 years old at the time.
After that, he raised her, made her believe that you were the only one in her family, and trained her to be a murderer. After a gunshot was heard inside the courtyard of Kijima’s ancestor’s home, Varrick assumes that Kate killed Kijima. So, she tries to find Ani for her organization, as she did with Kate all those years ago.
Varrick tries to separate the little girl by revealing to her that Kate killed Kentaro. And her plans work briefly as Ani goes with her. However, what she doesn’t realize is that Kate didn’t kill Kijima. Meanwhile, Ani soon became frustrated with Varrick after learning that he had been working with Renji all this time. Luckily for Ani, she has people coming to look for her.
