Tears of the Sun is a thrilling activity that works by filling with adrenaline that is sure to leave a person stunned by its portrayal of war and suffering. Assisted by director Antoine Fuqua of ‘Southpaw’ fame, the film focuses on a group of US Navy Seals doing rescue work in the heart of Nigeria during the military coup. The rescue mission, Dr. Lena Fiore Kendricks, refuses to travel without her patients and thus embarks on an exciting journey between impressive countries amid a horrific civil war. Tears of the Sun Movie Filming Locations
The main Tears of the Sun film debut began in February 2002, and in October, the recording team was wrapped up. Although the film’s location is in Nigeria, most of the Tears of the Sun movie was shot in the beautiful Hawaiian area, some parts completed the recording in Los Angeles, California.
O’ahu, Hawaii Location
Part of the Hawaiian Islands, O’ahu has the provincial capital, Honolulu, and popular tourist attractions such as Waikiki Beach and Pearl Harbor. Moviegoers have always loved the island because of its powerful and outstanding background that can be used as a recording aid. O
For ‘Tears of the Sun,’ the staff decided to use a number of indoor and outdoor venues that would display parts of Nigeria. The recording took place at Dole Plantation in Wahiawa and in the northern coastal community of Haleiwa. The film also contains the magnificent Manoa waterfalls and the stunningly beautiful Maunawili Valley.
The Kualoa Ranch in Ka’a’awa, a place famous for its occasional recording of ‘Jurassic Park,’ was also used as a background for parts of war-torn Africa. Even the city of Honolulu played a few episodes, and a team of filmmakers took the help of the Hawaii Film Studio in Honolulu to film parts of the film that required special studio or CGI results.
Kaua’i, Hawaii Location
Kaua’i is an island known for its natural beauty, which has made it a destination for many movie productions. The recording team, ‘Tears of the Sun,’ captured the magnificent island as the rifle covered the active volcanoes of the active volcano, mauka Kilauea. The spectacular Kilauea waterfalls have also been used as an eye-catcher. According to reports, a prominent sunset spot displayed in movie posters and advertising material was also shot in Kaua’i.
Los Angeles, California Location
According to sources, parts of the movie were shot in Los Angeles, California, where crews used several indoor and outdoor shooting spaces. Home to Hollywood, the city has always been a well-chosen recording studio with its dynamic, diverse, and accessible locations.
USS. Harry S. Location
Tears of the Sun ‘was the first movie recorded for USS Harry S. Truman Aircraft Career. The recording took place at the Nimitz Class, a nuclear aircraft carrier for a few days as actors and filmmakers gained unprecedented access to the navy. However, to ensure the smooth running and avoid any potential problem, military officers and soldiers from the airport were always present and appearing in the movie more.
