In the Old Ways, as Cristina revives her roots in Veracruz, Mexico, she realizes that accepting her Nahuatl heritage and her ancient traditions is what she needs to strengthen her soul to prevent the demonic discovery by Postehki, a spirit that works for the oppressed, broken people. However, as he is rescued by local staff and continues to replace the head shaman, Luz, there are confusing building holes and unanswered questions left. Know about The Old Ways movie.
The Old Ways: Who Is The Ghost Boy?
The imprisoned Cristina always sees a little boy outside her shack, and inside when Luz begins the last ritual of removing Postehki from her body. Luz indicates that he will see a real spiritual state and as he communicates with the child, his mind returns to the ruins where he entered. This suggests that the boy is indeed Postehki’s vessel as he is the only one who can see him.
But the film never tells who the child is and why Cristina sees this form. If he had been related to her – my dead brother, perhaps – it would have made sense. Cristina’s mother died in the act of fooling when Cristina was young so that the visual representation could be more expressive than the mysterious boy who had no connection to Cristina’s journey or even the village.
The Old Ways: Why Did Cristina Pick La Boca?
The Old Ways. Cristina, who fights hard as a junkie journalist, is leaving America to take her own life in the ruins of La Boca in Veracruz as she can’t get past the way an ancestor was killed by her mother and placed in foster care. It was recently revealed that the caves are where the demons live, but there is no explanation as to why he went there. Its structure is simple as it allows anyone to enter, but since his mother died in Luz’s hut, it would make sense for him to go there instead.
There is no understanding of what the cave means, other than the beautiful view of Cristina coming, shooting, and falling off a cliff to die. Seeing it as a movie takes its toll on its mother, her old home, and would be a better way than the ruins.
The Old Ways: Why Did Carson Come Alone?
Cristina, while in exile earlier, received a text message from her journalist, Carson, asking her to come to Veracruz to rescue her. However, it does not make sense for him to come alone if he claims to have been kidnapped. He should have brought the authorities, especially if he says the last place he remembers is La Boca, which has a bad reputation for missing people.
Instead, he wraps up on his own and delivers his heroin, an irrational arc intended to make him a weak drug addict and another demon to seize. It is in response to Cristina’s journey, where she had to walk clean to keep her body clean to remove the inner evil.
The Old Ways: Where Did Javi Go?
Juz’s son Luz, who admits to Cristina when her mother died, plans to leave the supernatural behind. He is against his religion, but the problem is, he knows that spirits exist in his work with Luz during his time of bruja/witchcraft, so he should not question this.
He should want to continue as he too was inspired by Cristina’s fight. He also speaks out of respect for Luz but literally quits his job and leaves Veracruz in danger of evil after Postehki killed the old woman. Sadly, he never discussed with Cristina Luz’s estate – he simply tied up and left all of his mother’s tools behind, contradicting their last conversation.
