‘Clickbait’ is a complex game setting that focuses on the dangers of anonymity as to how the Internet provides and sometimes helps people’s worst desires. The explosion scene revolves around a futile kidnapping, in which those closest to the victim aim to find the culprits.
The action takes place as much on the ground as it does within the incomprehensible depths of the internet, and the show is a vivid reminder of the real effects of online work life. Want to know where the show’s creators bring ‘Clickbait’ to life? We have your back!
‘Clickbait’ is set in the United States but is actually recorded in Australia. This is easily achieved through in-house scenes, but many of the show’s outdoor scenes are also made to look like the characters were stateside with some production magic and creative recording techniques. Many parts of southeast Australia have been used to record the exhibition. However, some of the outdoor scenes with a very visible background, in fact, were recorded in the United States.
The main service shoot began in the United States in December 2019 but was disrupted in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Recording resumed in November 2020 in Australia and continued until at least June 2021. Let’s take a look at some of the recording sites used in the services.
San Francisco Bay Area, California Location
The first lens installation in 2019 and early 2020 seems to be taking place in the San Francisco Bay Area, especially in some of the most iconic areas in Oakland and surrounding areas. This includes most of the outdoor squares with the San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge in the background.
The filming of the film also took place north of the city of Oakland, where many of the night’s scenes were shot in the vicinity of the Fox Theater, located at 1807 Telegraph Avenue
Melbourne, Australia Location
‘Clickbait’ is set in Oakland, California, but most of the game is recorded in the city of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia. In addition to the great internal recording, many of the neighboring outdoor scenes were recorded in the city, using houses and locations similar to their California counterparts. Such was the attention to detail that a piece of Melbourne’s public water supply system that appeared to have been transformed into Oakland-style canals at the time of the shooting then changed back after the end of the product.
The production team used Docklands Studios Melbourne, located at 476 Docklands Drive in downtown Docklands. Many other areas around the city were also used for recording, including the towns of Broadmeadows, Fitzroy, and Coburg. Services is reportedly the first producer of Netflix Originals in the state of Victoria and has received attractive incentives from the State and Government.
