Nick and his friend, Watts, helped them to recall their memories through a process known as memory.
On one typical day at work, Nick becomes acquainted with Mae as Rebecca Ferguson, an artist who comes looking for a memory. Nick is excited about Mae and follows her. They soon fell in love and dreamed of sharing the future together. However, we read that Mae disappeared without a trace, and Nick kept recollecting memories in hopes of finding a clue that would lead him to Mae.
Nick also works as a liaison for the District Attorney (DA) and uses his expertise to investigate the memories of others to help prosecute criminals. During such an investigation, you read about the passing of Mae. He worked for a drug lord named Saint Joe and was a drug addict. Unable to comprehend that her boyfriend had lied to her, Nick’s desire to find Mae turned into a lust that led him into a vicious circle.
As the Reminiscence movie unfolds, we learn that Mae was working with a corrupt cop named Cyrus Boothe, who knows about his passing. He carefully planned everything to steal the memory data of Elsa Carine, one of Nick’s clients. Elsa was dating a statesman, Walter Sylvan, and they had a baby together. Walter dies, and so that he does not have to divide his inheritance, he orders Boothe to kill Elsa and her son. Boothe blackmails Mae to work with him.
Towards the end of the Reminiscence movie, Nick finds Boothe and learns the truth. He reaches into Boothe’s memories and discovers that Mae actually saved Elsa’s son Freddie. In memory, we see that when Boothe harasses Mae to reveal Freddie’s place, he cleverly leaves a trail so that only Nick can find Freddie. Mae took the drug and fell off her roof. Nick finds Mae in Boothe’s memory, but by then, she’s already dead.
Earlier in the reminiscence movie, Nick was injured after discovering the truth about Mae’s past. He asks if Mae really loved him or just named him. However, she does not know that her love changed Mae. She tries to be a better person, but the past passes for her. In his last moments, he is able to express his affection for Nick. As it turns out, Walter’s son Sebastian hired Boothe. Nick gives all the evidence to the police. Although we do not see what happened to Sebastian, it is safe to say that he was caught by the police and rotted in prison.
In the end, Mae’s love helps Nick to resolve the conspiracy. Without his clues, it would not have been possible for Nick to compile the truth. Earlier in the movie, the DA commented that the law does not apply to the rich. Nick proves that wrong by finding evidence against Sebastian and bringing him to court. The whole situation represents the political and political and economic situation in today’s world where morality is deteriorating. The conclusion proves that good will always triumph over evil no matter how blurred between them.

He stays in his remaining days in the tank and remembers the time he spent with Mae over and over again while the old Watts watched him. The last scene is Mae’s memory that Nick is still alive. Mae asks Nick in hell a story with a happy ending. Nick responds that the whole ending is sad; it is good news. He then asks her to tell him a good story and finish it in half. Nick tells Mae the story of Orpheus and Eurydice without revealing a sad ending. The Reminiscence movie ends with Nick and Mae kissing.
Nick and Mae’s love story has many similarities to those of Orpheus and Eurydice. In Greek mythology, Orpheus and Eurydice were lovers who were separated after Eurydice’s death. Orpheus entered the Hall (or Underworld) and convinced Hade to allow him to return with the soul of Eurydice. Hades agreed with the condition that Orpheus would not look back when he left the Underworld. Nick concludes his story at this point. However, in the real story, Orpheus goes back. So, Eurydice is stuck in the Underworld forever. Orpheus also dies shortly thereafter. Still, his head is preserved. Reminiscence.
Memory can be seen as similar to Underworld. Nick’s quest is the same as Orpheus’, and both of their stories end in tragedy. Earlier in this movie. Mae returns to Nick but is too busy looking back, and Mae dies later. This can be seen as similar to Orpheus coming back. In the end, Nick loses hope in his love and begins to believe that Mae cheated on him.
Nick concluding the story of Orpheus and Eurydice in between can be interpreted as a promise to Mae that they will be together forever. The time Nick and Mae spend is in the middle of her love affair, and Nick returns to it so that she and Mae can live happily ever after. So, Nick fulfills his promise, and the movie ends with a sour note. Reminiscence.
