Black Island: Overview
The Black Island’s story takes the audience to the island of Kiel in the Northern Frisian Islands to tell a story of mystery and revenge. The story begins with the death of Mr. Maineke, Jonas’ father, and a German schoolteacher. Jonas’ grandfather Friedrich also held a high position at the school, having previously worked as a teacher. After the death of Mr. In the meantime, a new teacher, Helena Jung, is taking over the ministry in Germany. She emerges as beautiful and relaxed at first glance, interested in the beauty of nature.
After class, Helena calls Jonas, Nina, and Florian to help her pack her boxes home. While Helena, Jonas, and Florian have a good conversation over a shelf, Nina hurts herself. Florian takes Nina home with him and Jonas follows in his cycle. (Black Island) Later in her home, Helena burns Jonas’s printed pictures. She assigns students to write a poem that sounds like a classke in the classroom, and the aspiring poet Jonas helps Nina to write her own poem. Jonas’ grandfather frustrates his efforts, but Helena encourages him wholeheartedly, even though he knows he helped Nina write her assignment.
Later, Jonas will show Helena his manuscript, which seems to break Helena’s tears. Jonas quickly kisses, then responds with a refreshing kiss. They start dating, but the sudden arrest of his grandfather at a school party after Helena’s sight raises doubts in Nina’s mind about Helena’s deceptive appearance. Nina’s investigation pushes her into a fatal thought, while Jonas finds out about the terrible past of following Helena.
Who Is Maria Roth?
Friedrich fell after seeing Helena at the event. Although Jonas misses the detail, Nina and her friend Jule are aware of this. Nina decides that Helena may be the cause of Friedrich’s sudden illness and that the two may never know each other. Jule knows from her father that Helena looks just like her German teacher at school.
Nina visits the library to look at the school’s old archives to see if there are any Helena and face competitions with one of the staff. (Black Island) Stand on the page to get the same picture. This photo is of Maria Roth, a former German schoolteacher. Unexpected revelation prepares Nina to face death with Helena. Helena suffocates Nina until she dies and then tears off the page of the yearbook.
When Jonas comes looking for Nina in the library, Helena tells Jonas that Nina left the place earlier. While Jonas forgets to look for Nina’s bike, Helena sees it after putting Nina’s body in her car. He takes the keys out of Nina’s bag and returns the cycle again. Helena carries Nina and her belongings to the island’s shores and dumps the body into the sea.
That night, Helena sneaks into Jonas’s house to contact another dreamer, and the next day, Nina’s body washes the beach. After being exposed, (Black Island) Friedrich fainted a second time and was taken to hospital. Jonas looks worried and goes to Helena’s house to fight.
By then, however, Helena has left to visit Friedrich at the hospital. From Helena’s arousing monologue to the hospital, we understand that Maria is Helena’s mother. Friends return to the library to find the page taken out of the book. They searched online to find a picture of Maria Roth and Friedrich together. They are investigating further finding that Maria Roth died in a 1988 accident. The next morning, Helena was released from the hospital by Friedrich and knocked on Jonas’ door. Before Jonas could understand anything, Helena carried Friedrich’s bed in the doorway.
“Black Island.” Jonas explodes at Helen, who promises to tell her everything she drinks. Audiences see Helena eating Jonas’s coffee, possibly a stabbing death following a fight. He later puts Friedrich’s bed in the window to get a better view of Jonas’ fate.
The argument reveals that Helena is Jonas’ blood-related aunt. When Maria Roth arrived as the new German teacher at the school, Friedrich committed an illegal act with Maria, and Helena was the child of their love. When Maria was head over heels in love with Friedrich, Friedrich was concerned only with dignity. Thus, Friedrich plunged Maria into cold blood, and Helena survived, reborn with a desire for revenge. Black Island.
Is Helena Dead or Alive?
After being exposed, Jonas feels drunk. (Black Island) At that moment, Helena drags her into the pool while assuring her that it will be all right. Helena tries to drown Jonah in the pool, but Jonas still has the power to free himself from Helena’s clutches. He escapes from the lake and crawls home in difficult times. Helena chases Jonas home, and a fight ensues between the two.
Helena tries to choke Jonas, but he grabs a piece of glass. Jonas stabs Helena in the chest with a piece of glass, then falls next to Jonas. At the end of the story, he appears to have died while both Jonas and Friedrich escaped while still alive. But Helena’s specter haunts Jonas as he escapes to a dump island on a boat. In the boat, he chases after a woman wearing a yellow jacket that looks exactly like Helena.
Jonas follows (Black Island) the woman to the side of the boat, near the engine room. The woman is not Helena, but she is carefully looking at a map of the North Frisian Islands hanging from the side of the boat. The woman greets Jonas, who is relieved to learn that she is not Helena. A woman asks Jonas if he has taken a boat on Kiel Island, where Jonas shakes his head. The woman is curious as to why the island is black on the map.
Jonas looks at the map, then touches the dark area to find that the island is darkened in black or muted pastel. The final revelation draws the story into another shadow of darkness following a series of tragic events. The island was not originally painted but was hand-painted afterward. It is possible that the island was previously darkened by Helena because of her hatred and anger towards the island and its inhabitants. Black Island.
