There has never been a movie like “Snake Eyes.” This is said to be a combination of awareness and distraction, trade-allowing-exhaustion and tolerance of the “origin” story but the expectation of better films still seems to come. Is the movie a success? Yes, that depends on what you want to see.
Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins Action, Adventure Movie
First of all, it’s hard to imagine who the audience is in this particular movie. If you love and serve Snake Eyes – one of the most popular 80s pop cultures in a decade that seemed to include new content every week – you may already be annoyed by a film that takes on a mysterious, dumb, never-before-badass and turns it into an obvious badass, of verbose, rarely concealed.
If you are too young to remember the cartoon program “Real American Hero” and comic books presented by Snake Eyes, why not put on a fork over $ 20 to watch an hour of the best karate-hero-in-the-best training film in everything from “Kill Bill” to “Redbelt” to the “Cobra Kai” series?
But somehow, almost inexplicably, this precedes the two GIs. “Snake Eyes: GI Joe Origins” begins with a look back over the past 20 years, as a young boy watches his father being arrested by a gang. The audience is then taken to the present day when Golding’s character goes by the name “Snake Snakes,” forming a live cage that fights, and leads to revenge.

From here, we get a lot of training and drama – some of the best, some of the most explicitly close to earning honesty, destiny, learning to let go of one’s inner failings, you know how to play. The biggest shortcoming of “Snake Eyes” all seems to be around the Kenta character. His motives are unclear, he spends most of his time using a glittering stone that makes people burn spontaneously, and we are told he has contact with Cobra but does not appear to have any type of identifying character from any previous person. It is obvious from the beginning that the future awaits him, and his scenes are especially symbolic of the wicked.
One of the strangest things about “Snake Eyes” is that all the good things about it can be caused by Golding – a talented, physically confident player who deserves to be a great star. Anyway, the best GI Joe’s follower can hope to keep going next time they find a way to snatch his voice, put him under that secret, but somehow keep his contributions enough. It worked for Pedro Pascal on “The Mandalorian,” so who knows? Maybe there is a way.
The same concept can be described by Koji as Storm Shadow, who is also widespread but a fan of the characters who did not like it decades ago. Properly covered, it will withstand a lot of adverse conditions, such as “The Black Widow” and “The Great Depression” on the way to Patton Oswalt’s prophetic comedy about how Hollywood needs to stop explaining where our interests come from.
Here’s hoping for “Snake Eyes” the start of a new GI. The Rebirth of Joe, which brings us a strong cinematic show of Serpentor, Gung Ho, B.A.T. the military, the USS Flagg airline commander, and/or the excellent “No Place Like Springfield” issue. Heck, William “Refrigerator” Perry is still with us, let’s take him and Sgt. Stir in the cameo. Here, too, we hope to see the end of every GI hour. Joe’s movies play similarly to standard art training movies, and that somewhere in between, the series can find a fun place for nerds and newbies alike.
