Underworld is an exciting film that set the stage for a successful action franchise that has spawned live-action movies, one animated film, and many other crossovers and video game releases. The 2003 film directed by director Len Wiseman starred Kate Beckinsale as Selene, a violent man caught in a battle between his band and the Licans. When Selene meets and falls in love with a man, the movie brings a tested love story.
After being bitten by a man by Lycan, the decision to save or kill him fell to Selene. Underworld Movie Filming Locations
‘Underworld‘ was shot somewhere in several parts of Hungary. The filming began on September 2, 2002, and lasted for more than two months before its graduation on November 23, 2002. The beautiful city, with its magnificent architecture, gave the movie it’s unmistakable feeling. Here is a detailed look at some of the filming locations.
With a movie theater in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, it was natural for workers to shoot from a vantage point in the city. Budapest is famous for its beautiful architectural wonders that reflect many styles ranging from neoclassical to Gothic revival. The Underworld movie showcases the beauty of the city building and combines it with artistic lighting to set the tone of events.
The movie’s most popular underground movie shooting was technically shot locally at the Budapest subway station, which is also aired on a few other scenes. Workers shot several shots at Gosdu-Udvar, built by architecture professor Győző Czigler.
It is one of the main examples of the beautiful architecture of Budapest. A building with seven buildings and adjoining courtyards, the Gozdu Court even served as a Jewish ghetto from 1944 to 1945.
The production team also used the Film Studios of history in Budapest to find many of the special and visual effects used in the film. Even Lycan suits are custom-made in the studio. Interestingly, the Films also helped in the making of such films as ‘The Boy in the Striped Pajamas’ and ‘Son of Saul.’ ‘
Nádasdy Mansion, a mansion in the recently demolished city of Nádasdladány, Hungary, Nádasdy Mansion has provided a suitable backdrop for the black gothic landscape of the movie. Although the interior of the mansion was not used in the movie, workers used the stadium to shoot the outer squares of Ördögház, the seat of the Old World Coven.
The light and music combined gave the city mansion a bittersweet and terrifying look, perfectly matched by the vibe of the Underworld movie.
