American Express Serve Prepaid Card Information

American Express Serve is a prepaid debit card where the best on the market perhaps the best on the market if you want to use a prepaid debit card for whatever reason in terms of why you might use a prepaid card.

There may be the fact that maybe you don’t like bank maybe you can’t get a bank account if you’ve had any issues with banks in the past and for some reason, it’s making it difficult some people don’t want to have a debit card that is accessing their bank account directly.

Safety

For safety what they do is they move some money on to a prepaid card like this so that you know if anyone gets a hold of that card they couldn’t access their complete bank account through it

That’s the possibility sort of safety there some people will use a prepaid card to help fund you know spending for a child put some money on there and then that person child or someone another family member could use that card so in this case with the American Express serve.

Use Anywhere

Basically what it is a prepaid card you can use it anywhere that you know American Express is accepted and you can access the money that is on the prepaid card via ATM.

Fees

The fees of this card and you know in some cases that rent even any fees so we’ll talk about how that works so starting off in terms of a monthly fee for the serve card

There’s a $1 monthly fee so just one dollar per month and that can actually be $0 if you do a direct deposit on to the card of at least $500 in a month

If you direct deposit your paycheck straight to the prepaid card you are not going to pay anything on it in terms of ATM fees you’re not gonna pay any ATM fees as long as you stay within the money pass ATM network

There’s a common thing with many banks you’re gonna stay in their network if you go outside of the network here it would cost you $2.50 now there is the seneschal for cash reload fee if you do not reload from you know either via direct deposit or through a bank or whatever if you have to reload it with cash it could be up to $3.95 in a reload

That’s basically it otherwise the only thing really that is of significance is if you use the card outside of the US there’s a 2.7% fee on those international purchases that’s something if you know you’re familiar with how credit cards work many of them have that similar situation as well.

Types of Card

The base American Express serve card there actually are two options that you can choose depending on.

1. American Express Serve With Free Reload

2. American Express Serve With Cash Back

You know how you use the card one of these two might make more sense for you or that base card that you know has very few fees might be the way to go

1. American Express Serve With Free Reload

American Express

The American Express serve with free reloads, it is basically the same card but in this case, you’re gonna pay $3.95 per month and you’re not going to then have to pay anything.

If you do cash reload so if you’re someone that it would use this card and need to do cash reloads it would make more sense to get this card because then you could do multiple cash reloads and not have to pay any extra fee and you know that dollar fee that you would pay per month with the other card is rolled into that you know that $6.95 that I just mentioned

The direct deposit or you have a bank account to put the money in with it would make sense to get the card that has the free reload because you’re gonna pay you to know probably less than you would and at worst, you’re gonna pay the same amount if you’re gonna do any cash reloads at all so that is this service with free reloads.

2. American Express Serve With Cash Back

Best No Fee Credit Card In Canada

American Express serve with cashback and what that is is again the same card but in this case, you’re gonna pay $7.95 per month

But you’re gonna get 1% cashback on all the purchases that you make with the card now that being said in order for that to make sense for you now that you have that $7.95 charge you would have to be spending at least $795 per month.

So before you’re actually gonna get any actual reward you’d have to spend at least $100, so if you’re someone that would spend that much and you know go over that amount then the $1 cash back card could make sense for you

So that is pretty much it like I said the American Expressserve card is one of our favorite prepaid cards on the market perhaps our actual favorite card if you have any thoughts on the serve card based on your own usage or just what you know of it in comparison to other prepaid cards.
